Cannonball Run
The 2001/02 Cannonball Run Series is now fully under-way.
We are currently looking into the fixture list and to possible Cannonball Run's so please return soon to keep up-to-date on these matters.
Sheffield United away looks certain to be our first CannonBall Run trip of the season.
What Is A Cannonball Run?
Taken from the 1991 film staring Burt Reynolds, the Cannonball Run is simply a car race from one place to another.
Driving to Grimbsy or Crewe can be a rather teedious affair, so some Gills fans got together to form the Gills Away Day Cannonball Run - starting from Medway Valley Park (the Amadeus car-park in Strood) and finishing at the turnstiles of the named ground, it is a straight forward race.
With no rules, you can:
Drive at your own speed (remember that speeding is a criminal offence!)
Take your own route
Stop as many times as you wish
Have as many Gills flags and scarves hanging from your windows as you require!
ofcourse we don't encourage entrants to break the traffic laws ;-)
Why Should I Enter?
It's free, is fun and it turns a very boring road trip into a terriffic Gills Care Race!
All you need to do is to let us that you wish to enter so that we know how many people to expect.
It's 100% free and the winners prize is a very smug smile!
As it's free, there's no huge prize - the idea of this Cannonball Run is for fun after all!
Keep Up To Date!
So you're interested in joining us ... all we ask is that you fill out a form to let us know that you intened to join us!
Then turn up on the day and take part, its that simple!
